What is the DYA?
The Catholic Church has always recognised the vital role of young people in the growth and future of the faith. In the Diocese of Dunkeld, there is a great desire to establish a more structured and recognised platform for youth engagement. This presents a unique opportunity to create an organisation which will empower young people strengthen their faith, and foster community involvement.
Our Vision
To build a strong, vibrant, and faith-filled youth community that actively contributes to the spiritual, social and personal growth of young Catholics in the Diocese of Dunkeld.
Our Mission
- To unite the youth of the diocese through faith, fellowship and service.
- To provide a platform for young people to deepen their relationship with Christ.
- To engage young people in leadership, personal development and community service.
- To foster a welcoming and inclusive environment where all young people are valued.
Our Objectives
Spiritual Growth
Organise youth Masses, retreats, Bible studies, and prayer sessions.
community building
Create a sense of belonging through social events, mentorship programs, and peer support.
Leadership & Skill Development
Offer workshops on leadership, career guidance, and personal development.
Evangelisation & Outreach
Encourage youth involvement in parish activities, charity work, and evangelisation.
Networking & Collaboration
Work with other dioceses, parishes and youth organisations to enhance learning and experiences for young people.
Structure
Youth Director
The overseeing diocesan representative and spiritual director for the DYA
Youth Coordinators
Overall leadership, in partnership with Youth Director, responsible for coordinating activities and pushing things forwards.
Parish Youth Representatives
Serving as contact points for each parish to disseminate information around the diocese.
Social Media Team
Responsible for managing online and social media presence, advertising etc.
Association Members
Open to all (18-35), can fluctuate. Invited to meetings, welcome to be a part of the discussion, to give their voices and views, and to direct the events that they want to see happening.
Events/Activities Committees
Formed by the Members and working in partnership with the Director, Coordinator(s) etc. to organise specific events, requiring only a short-term commitment from Members who are willing – to be appointed at meetings as events are decided.

Key People

Fr. Michael Ngobili
Fr. Michael Emeka Ngobili is the Youth Director for Dunkeld Diocese, and oversees the DYA and its activities. He welcomes and encourages all young people to take part in their Church and join us in making a vibrant youth community in our diocese.

Charis & Aimee
Charis & Aimee have been elected as co-coordinators, responsible for overseeing the activities of the DYA and ensuring everything keeps operating smoothly.

James
James is in charge of managing our social media posts and outreach, and is also a valued member of the DYA core team.
