NCW Community Eucharist Evening – 19 July 2025

The DYA was kindly invited to join the Neo-Catechumenal Way community in Glasgow for an evening celebrating the Eucharist in community. One of our young people, Aimee, joined the gathering, along with the lovely Kelly O’Reilly, a native of Dundee and a missionary in the NCW, who serves the youth, community and parish in Athens, Greece.
Kelly shared with us her thoughts on the evening: “I just wanted to share a bit of the joy we experienced last night! We were blessed to take Aimee from the Dunkeld Youth through to Glasgow for the Eucharist with the Neo-Catechumenal Way community. The brothers and sisters welcomed us so warmly, and we celebrated a beautiful Mass with Father Charlie Bell, who has served as an itinerant in Jamaica for 30 years — it really touched all of us deeply. It was amazing to see Aimee listening so attentively to the Word of God and Father Charlie’s homily — our faith felt so alive and strengthened!”
We look forward to welcoming the NCW community to Dundee in the new academic year, and learning a bit about their way of life in faith and communion.
DYA BBQ – 29 June 2025

The DYA took advantage of the beautiful summer weather this weekend with a casual BBQ hosted in the gardens behind St Joseph’s RC Church on Wilkies Lane, Dundee. The afternoon sunshine was enjoyed by around 23 people in attendance, including our Bishop Andrew, who stopped by for a chat and a delicious burger! (Shoutout to the 40 burgers and 20 sausages that didn’t stand a chance!) A huge thanks goes to Fr Greg Murphy OP and Canon Kevin Golden for supporting the event, to Billy for manning the BBQ like a pro, to Fr Michael Ngobili and the DYA team for coordinating the event, and to everyone who came along and made it such a fab day!
Looking forward, the DYA hopes to arrange another few events over the summer months, so keep an eye on our socials for updates!
Launch Event – Quiz Night

Read all about it here…
The new Dunkeld Youth Association has marked its launch with a successful Young Adult’s Quiz Night at the Cathedral in Dundee. Joined by Bishop Andrew, who celebrated 6pm Mass alongside youth director Fr. Michael Ngobili, the young people of the DYA got involved in the parish community firstly by serving through the liturgy, and then by extending an open invitation to the youth to join together in community for an evening of fun and fellowship. With plenty of pizza and refreshments generously supplied by Canon Kevin Golden and Fr. Michael, a competitive quiz evening was enjoyed by about 25 participants, with additional inputs from Fr. Michael and Bishop Andrew, as well as Miss Kelly O’Reilly, a youth missionary with the Neo-Catechumenal Way in Athens, who came to share her inspiring testimony and join in the fun!
